Perspective
I believe ambition is the most emotionally destabilizing hobby a person can have. But it’s the only way to greatness.
The best ideas break through the noise. Be different. Be memorable. Make people care. When that happens, you create a connection that lasts. What drives me is creating work that people look at twice, remember later, and makes the brand part of their own story.
My inspiration.
I love movies, series, and books that completely draw you in. My first trip to Universal Studios Hollywood as a kid gave me a behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking and sparked a lifelong passion for storytelling. I still watch my favorite movies and rewatch shows each year because I’ve grown attached to the characters. That love for stories that connect with people drives my work.
How I got here.
I started as a sportswriter in college, covering high school football games on Friday nights. I mostly covered one team, and they ended up winning the high school Super Bowl which was played at my college.
After graduation, I took that “first post-grad start your life” role, but after a few years I realized I missed creating, telling stories, and putting real personality into my work. So that led me to grad school, where I could learn the advertising industry and start building meaningful connections.
While in grad school, I got an internship at a branding agency that was large enough to have recognizable clients, but small enough for an intern like me to work on a lot of different projects. It was the perfect place to learn strategy, sharpen my writing, and collaborate with clients to bring their ideas to life. By the end of the internship, I knew this was the career I was meant to be in. I began freelancing for the agency and took on projects on the side, which led to contract work and eventually brought me into my first full-time role.
Some of my best writing has been done with my dog Clyde at my feet.
Things I really like:
Movies and good TV series
Sports
Sundays
The ocean
The city
Efficiency
A good plot twist
All of the above ideally all at once
Things that aren’t for me:
Clichés
Making things harder than they need to be
Fakeness (except some plants)
Clutter
The same thing over and over (unless it’s something from the good list)
Let’s connect.
